| This thread is an editorial--opposing opinions on issues discussed below exist and are valuable.
The captain of a ship values you when he's just launched and hoping to get cannoneers. You have a value at that point. You should also have a value once you're on the captain's ship.
A certain member-who-left had a habit of lying about how many cannoneers were on his ship when advertising for new recruits. I stopped sailing with him real quick after noticing this.
At what point is a ship full? If you can fit 12 people on your ship but there are only eight cannons on one side, isn't your ship full with 8 people?
I'm guessing most people who shoot cannon will also repair, and in the best of situations this works well. Should we say, though, that repair is something voluntarily given--and not an automatic expectation? Also, if you teleport to a ship and the captain is wandering around and you haven't shot anything yet and he / she suddenly says, repair--isn't that "uncool"?
Last comment: if a cannoneer loses her / his position on a ship because she / he went to get good ammo, and the last person boarding the boat doesn't voluntarily leave to give back the position -- and we find out who that person was -- is this grounds for being kicked out? I feel that if a cannoneer has devoted over half an hour to saving a ship and then suddenly loses his / her position due to getting ammo or a DC, we should have options to restore her / him to her position. Just my opinion.
Have fun sailing!

| Love the thoughts on giving up the cannon. This happens all to often out there on the sea. You get up to go repair, ammo up or help someone else and when you come back, someone is sitting at your cannon...and they have packed a lunch. Unfortunately, there is no way at all to stop this as a widespread pandemic. However, it is possible to stop this in the guild. If everyone is just considerate and nice across the board, then that will transfer over into our sailing and looting habits. I wish there were some way to boot people off a boat, but that just isnt possible. So, when it comes to people outside the Fury, we really have no control. But within the guild, we have pretty much absolute control. So lets all just be kind to everyone out there, most of all your fellow guildies mates! I will say this though, for the most part, I have noticed alot of good people out there cannoning and sailing. Alot of, "here, take my cannon". Even Capt. Longbones last night left the crew so Peppermint could join and get the crew bonus. So for that, I thank all of you. Lets keep that mentality going and continue to make the Fury the best guild in POTCO!!! FTF!!!!!!!! -D | |

| My pal Val, all your ideas are throughly thought out and I think we all have shared the same feeling. I know I am always willing to give up the wheel or cannon because I am not a fan of sailing and rather have someone who enjoys sailing smile. So to all the considerate people keep up the great spirit!!! Your kind heart will be noticed and maybe it will rub onto the next pirate | |
